Welcome, by Amy Hostetter, M.D.

Welcome to Integrative Psychiatry, LLC, a practice dedicated to offering evidence-based integrative psychiatric care. This combination of conventional and complementary medicine takes a holistic approach to patient care, focusing on mind, body, and spirit. As a board certified psychiatrist and diplomat of the American Board of Integrative and Holistic medicine, I have been practicing in the Atlanta area for the last five years. I founded Integrative Psychiatry in 2017 with the goal of providing a more personalized and comprehensive approach to mental health and well-being.

I am passionate about helping my patients achieve their health goals and maintain wellness. As part of this endeavor, I strive to get to know my patients and to understand all the factors that contribute to the quality of their day-to-day lives. My goal is not only to treat their symptoms, but to consider the underlying factors that affect their mental health. This is the fundamental philosophy of integrative medicine; it uses a different framework to understand the whole person. I place a strong emphasis on education, enabling patients to make informed decisions about their health care needs and outcomes. Most importantly, I seek to instill hope in my patients: hope about the future of their mental health, and hope for successful progress towards their goals.

I view my work as a partnership with the patient – collaborative in evaluation, decision-making and intervention. I believe that to maintain a healthy balance it is important to nurture one’s whole self, including physical, mental, and spiritual needs. Accordingly, I often work in partnership with other healthcare and wellness providers. To help facilitate this collaboration, Integrative Psychiatry is located in the same building as counseling, nutrition, chiropractic, spiritual direction and massage therapy services.
